1-21-2026 | Holiness Requires Transformation
“Do not be conformed to this world... but be transformed by the renewal of your mind...” - Romans 12:2 . “...as He who called you is holy... you also be holy in all your conduct.” - 1 Peter 1:15-16

A lot of us want holiness to mean… “I try harder”.... But in the Bible... holiness is deeper than behavior modification.... Holiness is belonging to God... and when something belongs to Him... it doesn’t stay the same.
Think about what happens when Jesus calls someone.... He doesn’t just forgive their past... He starts reshaping their future....
“Holiness is not you polishing your old self... It’s God forming a new self in you.”
That’s why Scripture uses words like transformed... renewed... new creation... put off / put on....
“Holiness is the fruit of a life being changed from the inside out.”
Transformation can feel slow and even uncomfortable.... God will put His finger on attitudes we’ve excused... habits we’ve normalized... and wounds we’ve hidden.... Not to shame us… but to heal us....
Because holiness isn’t God demanding perfection... It’s God producing purity.... And purity isn’t just avoiding “bad things”… it’s becoming the kind of person who can carry His presence with integrity....
“You can’t stay who you were and walk closely with who He is.”
Here’s the truth…
Holiness requires transformation because closeness to God changes what you love... what you tolerate... what you pursue... what you say yes to... and what you finally have the courage to leave behind....
And the good news is this… God never commands what He refuses to empower.... The Holy Spirit doesn’t merely point out what’s wrong… He supplies the power to become new.... Step by step... conviction becomes cleansing... and cleansing becomes character....
“Holiness is not a costume you wear on Sundays.... It’s a life being remade… until your desires start to look like His desires... and your decisions start to reflect His heart.”
