1-27-2026 | Faith Is Rooted in God’s Word

Published January 27, 2026

“So then faith comes by hearing... and hearing by the word of God....” - (Romans 10:17)

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path....” - (Psalm 119:105)

There’s a kind of faith that feels strong when life feels calm… when prayers are answered quickly... when the bills are paid... when the relationships are smooth....

“But the faith that lasts… the faith that stands when the wind rises… isn’t rooted in circumstances.... It’s rooted in God’s Word.”

“Faith isn’t wishful thinking.... Faith is confidence anchored in what God has said.”

That means your faith has somewhere solid to stand... even when your emotions wobble and your situation shifts....

“God’s Word doesn’t change with the news cycle... your mood... or the opinions around you.... It is steady... tested... and true.”

Think about it…

“If faith grows by hearing the Word... then neglecting the Word doesn’t just make you “less informed”… it makes you less fortified.”

“The enemy doesn’t need to steal your faith with one giant blow…. sometimes he just starves it by keeping you distracted from Scripture.... Because a Bible that stays closed often leads to a heart that feels uncertain.”

But when you plant yourself in God’s Word... something happens…

  • Fear loses its loudest voice... because God’s promises speak louder....
  • Confusion starts to clear... because truth brings direction....
  • Temptation weakens... because the Word strengthens your inner man....
  • Hope rises... because you remember what God has already declared....

God’s Word doesn’t just inform you… it forms you.... It trains your mind... steadies your heart... and teaches your spirit what to agree with....

  • When you don’t know what to pray... Scripture gives you language....
  • When you don’t know what to do... Scripture gives you wisdom....
  • When you don’t know what to believe... Scripture gives you truth....

So today... don’t measure your faith by how you feel.... Measure it by what you’re rooted in.... Roots don’t look impressive above ground... but they decide whether you stand when the storm comes....

“The deeper the Word goes in you... the steadier your faith becomes.”
