And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. - Hebrews 11:6 NLT
Faith isn’t just a religious vibe or positive thinking… it’s the posture of a heart that takes God at His word....
That means faith isn’t optional for the Christian life...
Faith is the way we relate to God....
- Faith is how we come near....
- Faith is how we stay near....
- Faith is how we obey when feelings lag.
Hebrews 11:6 shows why faith pleases God… it believes that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him....
In other words... faith isn’t merely believing something…
It’s believing in Someone… and that Someone is God…. and that God is real... present... good... and responsive.
Faith honors God’s character.... It says... “Lord... You are who You say You are.... You do what You say You’ll do....”
That kind of trust delights Him… like a father who lights up when his child reaches for his hand in the dark.... The child may not understand the whole path... but he knows his dad.
“Faith pleases God because it treats Him as trustworthy.... It calls Him faithful even before the answer arrives.”
But faith isn’t passive....
- Real faith moves....
- It prays with expectation...
- Works with obedience... and waits with endurance....
- Faith keeps showing up....
- Faith keeps worshiping....
Sometimes the most pleasing faith is the kind that says... “God... I don’t see it yet… but I still trust You....”
- Faith keeps walking “by faith... not by sight” - (2 Corinthians 5:7).
“If you’re in a season where your faith feels small... take comfort… God is not asking for performance… He’s inviting your dependence.... Faith that pleases God can sound simple… “Lord... help my unbelief....” It can look ordinary… choosing forgiveness... choosing integrity... choosing prayer again.”
