Let God Be God – October 1

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”  - Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

It’s easy to fall into the trap of self-reliance... We see a problem, we analyze it, and we start crafting solutions... We tell ourselves that if we just work harder, plan better, or pray more strategically, we’ll figure it out... But beneath the surface... we may be relying more on ourselves than we are on God.

Sometimes... our obsession with fixing things is actually a symptom of distrust.

It’s not that we don’t believe in God... it’s that we secretly think He needs our help.

We try to take the wheel while asking Him to bless the ride we’ve already decided on... But God doesn’t co-pilot our lives... He leads!!! .... Our job isn’t to figure everything out... it’s to trust Him... especially when we can’t.

Think of Abraham and Sarah... God promised them a son, but when time dragged on, they took matters into their own hands. The result was confusion and conflict... Yet God still fulfilled His promise... in His time... in His way. Their mistake didn’t cancel His faithfulness... but it did complicate their journey.

Are you so busy fixing, planning, and problem-solving that you’re no longer resting in God’s sovereignty?

Have you become the manager of your own rescue instead of the worshiper of your Deliverer?

Trust isn’t passive... It’s not lazy... It’s a deliberate choice to surrender control... even when everything in you wants to act. It’s saying... “God... I can’t... but You can... and I believe You will.”

What if God is waiting for you to stop trying so hard... so He can show you what only He can do?

Father... I confess that sometimes I trust my own strength more than I trust You…. I try to fix things instead of resting in Your promises... Teach me to surrender... Help me to trust that You are working... even when I can't see it. I lay down my efforts... and I invite You to do what only You can do…. Be God in my life... completely.
