“Your word is a lamp to my feet ... and a light to my path ....” - Psalm 119:105

There are days when life feels like walking through a dark room with furniture everywhere ... one wrong step and you’re bruised ... tripping ... or stalled .... We don’t always know what’s ahead .... We can’t see around the corner .... But God never asked us to figure out the whole future at once .... He offered something better… His Word ... light for the next step.

Notice what Psalm 119:105 says… a lamp to my feet and a light to my path .... A lamp doesn’t flood the whole landscape like daylight .... It gives enough illumination to take the step right in front of you.

That’s often how God guides ... not by handing us a 10-year map ... but by giving us daily direction.

“Scripture helps us see what’s true when emotions are loud ... what’s wise when options are confusing ... and what’s righteous when pressure tries to bend our convictions.”

“Sometimes we want God to guide our path ... but we don’t open the very thing He uses most often to guide us.”

Scripture isn’t just information ... it’s formation .... It doesn’t only tell us where to go ... it shapes who we become on the way .... When we soak our minds in God’s Word ... we begin to recognize His voice more clearly ... discern motives more honestly ... and choose steps that match heaven’s priorities.

And here’s the comfort… even when we’ve taken wrong turns ... Scripture doesn’t only direct ... it redirects.

God’s Word corrects without crushing ... convicts without condemning ... and calls us back with mercy .... The path forward may not be perfect ... but it can be purposeful when Scripture is leading.

So today ... don’t ask only ... “Lord show me the whole plan ....” Ask ... “Lord show me the next faithful step ....” Then open His Word ... and let the light fall where your feet actually are.
