2-23-2026 | Serving Reflects the Heart of Jesus
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve but to give his life as a ransom for many...” - (Mark 10:45).
“If I then your Lord and Teacher have washed your feet you also ought to wash one another’s feet...” (John 13:14).
Jesus didn’t just teach about love… He showed it.... He moved toward people.... noticed needs others overlooked.... and stepped into the low places without hesitation....
The night before the cross.... He didn’t demand honor.... He picked up a towel.... He washed feet.
“In that moment.... Jesus revealed something powerful... in the Kingdom of God.... greatness looks like humility.... and love often wears the clothes of service.”
Serving isn’t about being impressive.... It’s about being available.... Sometimes we think service has to be big to matter… leading a ministry.... giving a lot.... doing something public.... But Jesus often loved in ordinary ways... a meal.... a touch.... a conversation.... a pause to listen.
“Real service isn’t driven by applause.... it’s driven by compassion.... It asks... “How can I reflect the heart of Jesus right here.... right now...?”
When you serve.... you’re not just completing a task… you’re expressing love in motion.... You’re saying... “You matter...” You’re making room for someone else’s burden to be lighter.... And as you do.... God shapes your heart.... Pride gets quieter.... Selfishness loosens its grip.... And joy… deep, steady joy.. begins to grow.... because you’re living like Jesus....
But serving can also be costly.... People may not notice.... Some may take it for granted.... You might feel tired or stretched.... That’s why we serve best when we remember... we’re not serving for approval… we’re serving from identity.... We don’t serve to earn God’s love.... we serve because we’ve already received it.... Love fills us.... and service becomes the overflow.
So today.... don’t ask... “Who will serve me...?” Ask... “Who can I love like Jesus...?” Because every act of service… seen or unseen… can become a holy offering.
