2-24-2026 | Serving Is Part of Our Calling

Published February 24, 2026

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.... which God prepared in advance for us to do.” - (Ephesians 2:10).

There’s a quiet lie we can slip into believing…  that our “calling” is mostly about platforms.... titles.... or big moments.

But in the kingdom of God.... calling often looks like a towel in your hand.... a humble yes.... and a faithful heart.... Jesus didn’t just teach service… He became the Servant....

On the very night He could have demanded honor.... He knelt and washed feet - (John 13).He showed us that greatness in God’s eyes is measured by love expressed through action.

“Serving isn’t a side quest for “extra spiritual” people… it’s part of the assignment for everyone who belongs to Jesus.”

Sometimes we avoid serving because we’re waiting to feel “ready....” recognized.... or resourced.

But God doesn’t call us to comfort… He calls us to obedience....

And serving is one of the clearest ways we live out our identity in Christ....

It’s how faith becomes visible.... It’s how love becomes practical....

It’s how the gospel gets hands and feet....

The Holy Spirit often shapes our character in hidden places…. nurseries.... parking lots.... phone calls.... hospital rooms.... prayer corners.... and the everyday “someone has to do it” moments.

And here’s the beautiful part… God prepares good works ahead of time… not just for pastors or leaders.... but for you....

“Your calling isn’t only found in what you dream about…  it’s also revealed in what you’re willing to carry.”

“Every act of service done in love becomes worship....

Heaven notices what people overlook.... So today.... don’t underestimate the holy power of small obedience....

If Jesus served.... and we are His disciples.... then serving isn’t beneath us… it’s who we are.”
