2-25-2026 | Serving Builds the Church
“Now you are the body of Christ... and individually members of it....” - (1 Corinthians 12:27)
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” - (1 Peter 4:10)
God didn’t design the church to be a building you attend… He designed it to be a body you belong to.... And every healthy body is built through connection... movement... and function.... That’s why serving isn’t optional decoration in the Christian life… it’s foundational construction.
When you serve... you’re doing more than filling a role.... You’re strengthening the whole.... A hand doesn’t need applause to be valuable… it just needs to work.... In the same way... the church isn’t built by a few visible gifts on a platform... but by many faithful hands in hidden places…. people who pray when no one hears... greet when no one notices... give when no one knows... set up when no one claps... and encourage when no one else has strength left.
Serving builds the church because it carries the heart of Jesus.... Jesus didn’t love from a distance… He moved toward people.... He washed feet... fed crowds... touched the unclean... listened to the overlooked... and laid down His life....
Every time you choose service over status... you’re putting His nature on display....
“The church becomes strongest not when everyone is entertained... but when everyone is engaged… each person offering what they have for the good of others and for God’s Glory.”
“Serving doesn’t just build the church around you… it builds Christ in you.”
And here’s the miracle…
It stretches pride... grows patience... deepens compassion... and matures faith.... You begin to see people the way God sees them.... You start to carry responsibility with joy.... You realize you’re not just attending a mission… you are part of it.
“You may feel small in what you do... but in God’s hands... small becomes significant.... A single brick doesn’t look impressive... but enough bricks placed faithfully together becomes a house.... Your consistent yes becomes strength in the walls of the church.”
