(Mark 10:45)

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Jesus describes His life with one sentence that flips the world’s values upside down... He didn’t come to be served… He came to serve.... The Son of God chose the posture of a servant... not because anyone forced Him... but because love always moves outward.... He spent Himself for others... and ultimately gave His life “as a ransom for many”… paying what we could not pay... freeing us from what we could not escape....

This verse invites two responses....

·       First... rest... your worth isn’t earned by performance... it’s received from the One who served you all the way to the cross....

·       Second... follow... greatness in God’s kingdom looks like humble... practical love… quiet obedience... unseen kindness... and a willingness to put others before self....

“Service isn’t a way to prove yourself... it’s a way to reflect Jesus.”

Prayer:

Lord Jesus... You came not to be served... but to serve... and to give Your life as a ransom for many.... Thank You for paying the price I could never pay and for loving me with a love that goes all the way....

Shape my heart to look like Yours.... Free me from pride... entitlement... and the need to be noticed.... Teach me to serve with joy... to love in practical ways... and to value people the way You do.... Show me today who needs encouragement... help... patience... or mercy…. and give me courage to act.... Let my life point to You... the Servant-King.... Amen.
