(John 13:34)
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.

Jesus doesn’t leave love as a vague idea or a warm feeling… He makes it His command...and He gives it a standard… “As I have loved you...” That changes everything.... It means love isn’t measured by what others deserve...or by what I feel in the moment...but by what Christ has already done.... His love is patient when I’m slow.... Steady when I’m inconsistent.... Humble enough to serve...strong enough to sacrifice...and pure enough to forgive.... This command is also a gift.... Jesus is showing me what a life close to Him looks like… a life where His love doesn’t stop with me...but flows through me.... When I’m tempted to love selectively… only the easy people...only when it’s returned… Jesus calls me higher.... He invites me to remember the way He has loved me...and then to let that same love shape my words...my tone...my reactions...and my choices today.  Loving like Jesus is not something I can manufacture.... It’s something I receive from Him and practice with Him… moment by moment.... And every small act of Christlike love becomes a living testimony that I belong to Him.

Prayer

Lord Jesus...You have loved me first...and You have loved me well.... Thank You for a love that serves...forgives...and stays....   Today...obeying Your command feels bigger than my strength… so I ask You to fill me with Your Spirit and form Your love in me....  Teach me to love the people You place in my path the way You have loved me… with humility instead of pride… patience instead of irritation... kindness instead of indifference... forgiveness instead of offense.... Guard my mouth and soften my heart.... Make my love more than words… make it visible in my actions.  Jesus... let my life point back to You.... Help others recognize Your presence in me by the way I love.  In Your name...Amen.
