3-24-2026 | Witnessing Is Empowered by the Holy Spirit
“for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say...” - Luke 12:12
If we’re honest... one of the biggest reasons we hesitate to witness is fear... What if I say the wrong thing?... What if they ask a question I can’t answer?... What if I freeze?...
We imagine witnessing as a test we might fail…. or a performance we must get right...
But Jesus doesn’t describe witnessing as something we accomplish by talent... training... or perfect words.
In Luke 12... He’s preparing His followers for tense moments… real pressure... real opposition... real stakes... And right in that context... He gives a promise... the Holy Spirit will teach you what to say when the time comes...
That means you’re not walking into conversations alone...
“The Spirit doesn’t just comfort…. He empowers.”
The Holy Spirit is not only the One who strengthens you privately... He also helps you speak publicly... Witnessing isn’t powered by your bold personality... It’s powered by God’s presence...
Sometimes the Spirit empowers you with…
· Clarity when your thoughts feel scrambled
· Courage when your voice feels small
· Compassion when you’re tempted to argue instead of love
· Conviction to speak truth without harshness
· Timing…. knowing when to speak and when to listen
And often... the Spirit’s “teaching” isn’t a sudden speech you download from heaven... Sometimes it’s a simple sentence... a gentle question... a calm tone... or a Scripture that rises in your heart at exactly the right moment...
So what is your role? >>>> Be available... not impressive...
Jesus doesn’t say... “The Holy Spirit will make you sound brilliant.” He says... “The Holy Spirit will teach you what to say.” That’s different... God is not asking you to be impressive…. He’s asking you to be faithful.
“Witnessing... at its core... is not winning debates... It’s pointing to Jesus... Your story... your changed life... your steady hope... your honest testimony…. these are powerful when the Holy Spirit breathes on them.”
