3-4-2026 | Tithing Supports God’s Work
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse... that there may be food in my house... And thereby put me to the test... if I will not open the windows of heaven for you...” - Malachi 3:10
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart... not reluctantly or under compulsion... for God loves a cheerful giver...” - 2 Corinthians 9:7
God’s work in the earth has always been carried forward through God’s people...
When Israel brought the tithe... it supported the ministry happening in the house of God…. worship... teaching... care for the needy... and the daily responsibilities of serving the community.
In the New Testament.... we see the same principle... believers consistently set aside giving so the mission of Christ could advance through the local church and through ministry to people.
“Tithing isn’t just a “money thing”…. it’s a worship thing... It’s a way of saying... “Lord... everything I have came from You... and I trust You first...” When we give God the first portion... we’re not losing something…. we’re aligning our hearts with heaven’s priorities.”
And here’s the key... tithing supports God’s work... It keeps the lights on... yes…. but it also keeps the gospel going out... It fuels missions... helps pastors and leaders serve faithfully... strengthens outreach... provides resources for discipleship... and makes room for mercy…. food... counseling... benevolence... and practical help when life falls apart for someone.
Sometimes we think... “My tithe is small… does it matter?” But God multiplies what’s surrendered... Your obedience joins thousands of other obedient acts to form a steady stream that supports ministry every day…. not just on Sundays...
Here is the Heart Check for each of us…
· Do I see giving as worship or as pressure?
· Am I trusting God with my “first” or only my leftovers?
· Have I connected my giving to the mission…. souls reached... disciples formed... people helped?
“God most often builds His work through consistent faithfulness... not occasional bursts.”
