3-6-2026 | Tithing Guards the Heart & Leads to Generous Giving
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart…for God loves a cheerful giver....” - (2 Corinthians 9:7).
There’s a quiet battle happening inside every believer…. the tug-of-war between trusting God and clinging to control.... Money has a strange power…. it can become a comfort... a security blanket... even a substitute savior.... That’s why Scripture doesn’t treat giving as a side issue.... It treats it as a heart issue.
Tithing is one of God’s simplest... most practical tools for guarding the heart....
When we tithe... we’re not just moving a decimal point…. we’re moving our trust.... We’re saying... “Lord... You are my source.... Not my paycheck.... Not my hustle.... Not my savings...”.
“Tithing interrupts greed before it grows roots.... It challenges fear before it becomes a lifestyle.... It reminds us that everything we have is received… not earned in isolation.”
And here’s the beautiful part….
“Tithing doesn’t shrink your generosity… it trains it.”
Tithing is the first “yes” that breaks the power of “mine.”
It’s the doorway out of tight-fisted living into open-handed faith.
Many people want to be generous... but they feel trapped by anxiety… What if I don’t have enough?... What if something happens?... Tithing gently but firmly answers those fears with worship…. God is enough.... God will provide.... God can be trusted.
Over time... something changes.... The heart that faithfully gives the first portion starts to notice needs more quickly.... It becomes less defensive... less possessive.... It begins to rejoice when it can bless someone else....
Tithing guards the heart from being owned by money... and it creates space for God’s love to flow through you in generous giving.
“Generosity isn’t just a financial habit… it’s a spiritual posture.... And tithing is often the training ground where that posture is formed.”
