4-16-2026 | Choose Joy, Choose God

"This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118:24

Joy doesn't just happen…. It's not a switch that flips when everything in life goes smoothly…. True joy...lasting.. soul-deep joy... is a choice…. It’s not rooted in circumstances.. but in Christ.

Every day brings a crossroads…. We wake up to unexpected news.. difficult people.. anxious thoughts.. or moments of grief…. In those moments… joy may feel out of reach… But here’s the truth...

“Joy is not the absence of trouble... it’s the presence of God.”

Choosing joy means refusing to let our circumstances define our perspective...

It means saying…

“God, I trust You more than what I see. I choose You today. I choose joy today.”

That choice might feel hard…. It might mean praising when you’d rather complain... or giving thanks when you feel empty... or serving when you feel drained…. But each of these decisions opens the door for God’s joy to flood your spirit.

Joy is not passive... it’s active.

It’s not automatic... it’s intentional.

And it always starts with choosing God first.

So today… and every day… choose joy... not because life is perfect... but because God is faithful….

He never changes... even when everything else does.
