4-21-2026 | The Danger of Distraction in Our Relationships

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. - Ephesians 4:2-3
In our fast-paced world… it’s all too easy to become distracted by life’s demands… work.. social media.. and endless responsibilities…. While these tasks may seem urgent… we often overlook the relationships that truly matter.
Paul encourages us to engage with one another in love.. humility.. and patience.. emphasizing the importance of maintaining unity and connection in our relationships.
This means "Real" interaction.. not "Virtual"
Think of it in this way...
Let's say a busy parent who… overwhelmed by work and obligations… often misses the small moments with their children…. The dinner table becomes a place for hurried meals rather than meaningful conversations…. The love and connection that should flourish in these moments can become stifled by distraction…. Just as we prioritize our tasks… we must also dedicate and prioritize time intentionality to nurture and build our relationships.
“When you are with loved ones… be fully present…. Put away distractions like phones and screens…. Engage in active listening.. and show genuine interest in their thoughts and feelings.”
