“A look from the disciples’ point of view”

———————————————

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” -  Psalm 30:5

We do not know what to do with this day….

Yesterday… we watched Him die….

The sound of the hammer still echoes in our minds…. The sight of His broken body will not leave us…. We hear His cries of agony… we see the blood… feel the shaking of the earth… and yet none of it makes sense….

We thought He was the One…. We left everything to follow Him…. We believed He was the Messiah.. the King.. the hope of Israel….

But now the tomb is sealed… and so are our hearts….

Today is quieter than yesterday… but somehow harder….

Yesterday there was at least something to do…. we followed.. we wept.. we watched.. we hid….

But today there is only waiting... Painful.. unanswered.. hollow waiting…

Heaven seems silent…. The promises He spoke feel buried with Him…. We try to remember His words… but grief makes everything sound far away…

Did we misunderstand Him?

  • How could the One who opened blind eyes now lie in darkness?

  • How could the One who raised the dead remain in a grave?

  • How could the One who calmed storms leave us drowning in fear?

We are afraid!!!

Afraid that the authorities will come for us next…. Afraid that we were foolish to hope…. Afraid that everything we believed has fallen apart….

We sit behind closed doors… not only to protect our bodies… but because our hearts have closed too….

Disappointment has a way of doing that…. Sorrow can make a soul feel like a sealed tomb.

And yet…

Somewhere beneath the grief… a small flicker of hope remains….

He said things we did not fully understand….

  • He spoke of rising again.

  • He spoke of the temple being rebuilt.

  • He spoke as though death would not have the final word.

We do not know how such things could be true…. We do not know what morning will bring….

All we know is that this day is not the end of the story… even if it feels like it.

So we wait…

We wait in confusion…

We wait in sorrow…

We wait with trembling faith…

We wait because there is nothing else to do…

We wait because maybe.. just maybe.. God is still working in the silence….

This Saturday kind of faith is hard….

  • It is the faith that breathes between heartbreak and hope….

  • It is the faith that does not yet see resurrection… but refuses to completely let go of Jesus….

  • It is the faith that sits in the dark and whispers… “Lord.. I do not understand.. but I remember You.”….

Maybe that is where many of us live too…

  • Not at the joy of fulfilled promises…

  • Not at the agony of immediate loss...

  • But in the middle…in the waiting.. in the silence.. in the place where God feels hidden….

“Saturday teaches us that silence is not absence.”

The grave is quiet… but God is not defeated.

The promise looks buried… but it is not abandoned.

The story seems over… but heaven is still writing.

Today… if your heart is living in a Saturday… take courage….The silence is real… but it is not final.

God often does His deepest work where human eyes cannot see…. But take heart…what feels like the end may only be the holy pause before resurrection.
