4-7-2026 | Friday's fear became Sunday's salvation.

"Since we have been united with him in His death, we will also be raised to life as He was." Romans 6:5

The week often carries a lot of weight….  By Friday… the accumulation of tasks.. worries.. and perhaps even disappointments can feel heavy… casting a shadow over our spirits.

Friday… for Jesus' followers long ago… was the ultimate day of fear…. The man they believed in… the one who spoke of love and healing… was arrested… unjustly tried… and brutally crucified.

Hope seemed lost… darkness prevailed… and the future held nothing but despair…. The cross… a symbol of Roman power and agonizing death… became the focal point of their terror.

But the story doesn't end there….

The silence of that Friday gave way to the earth-shattering news of Sunday…. The stone was rolled away… the tomb was empty… and Jesus… the crucified Savior… had risen!

The very instrument of fear and death… the cross… became the emblem of salvation…. and through his sacrifice on that cross… Jesus conquered sin and death… offering forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe.

Think about that transformation…. What was once a symbol of ultimate defeat is now the powerful reminder of God's immense love and victory…. The fear that gripped those first disciples was swallowed up by the overwhelming joy and hope of the resurrection.

In our own lives… we face "Fridays"… moments of fear.. loss.. and uncertainty….

Perhaps it's a difficult diagnosis.. a broken relationship.. a financial struggle.. or simply the weight of the world pressing down…. But just as that first Friday led to Sunday's glorious salvation… our moments of darkness can also be transformed by the power of the cross and the hope of the resurrection.

“The cross reminds us that even in our deepest pain… God is with us.”

Jesus himself experienced the ultimate suffering… so he understands our struggles…. And the resurrection assures us that death and despair do not have the final say…. Through faith in Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross… our Fridays of fear can indeed become Sundays of salvation… filled with hope.. peace.. and the promise of a brighter future.

“Let us hold onto that hope… especially when Friday's shadows loom large… knowing that Sunday is always coming.”
