5-15-2026 | Forgetting Ourselves to Help Others

Published May 15, 2026

"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:4

In a world that constantly tells us to prioritize our dreams.. guard our time.. and preserve our energy…

The call of Christ remains the same and is opposite of what the world teaches....

“Lose your life to find it.”

When we look at the life of Jesus... we see a Savior who consistently and constantly forgot Himself to meet the needs of others. Whether it was pausing to heal a bleeding woman feeding the hungry crowd washing His disciples’ feet or dying on a cross for sins He didn’t commit...

Jesus showed us what selflessness looks like.

But... the truth is...

Forgetting ourselves doesn't mean losing our identity... it means finding it in serving others…

“Real joy and purpose often bloom in the soil of sacrifice.”

We all have moments when we're tired.. stressed.. or busy... And it's in those moments that helping others can feel like too much.... But God gently reminds us that those very moments are opportunities for His strength to be made perfect in our weakness.

“When we choose to forget our own comfort and step into someone else's need... we reflect Christ more clearly than any sermon ever could.”

So Here's the Challenge...

Is there someone near you who needs encouragement?... a meal?... a listening ear?... or your time???

Ask God to open your eyes and heart today Then take one step... big or small... to help them... not out of duty... but out of love.

“Let go of what you think you’re lacking... and you might just discover how rich you already are.”
