5-19-2026 | Forgiveness Allows Love to Win

Published May 19, 2026

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." - 1 Peter 4:8

Forgiveness is not a feeling... it’s a choice…. A costly choice….

When we’ve been wronged... our natural instinct is to protect.. retaliate.. or withdraw.

But Jesus showed us another way

“On the cross... Christ chose forgiveness over condemnation…. He chose love over justice... And in doing so… He didn’t just change the moment... He changed eternity!!!”

“When we forgive… we’re not pretending the offense didn’t matter... We’re declaring that love matters more.”

Forgiveness is not letting someone "off the hook"... it’s placing them in God's hands and trusting that He is the true and righteous Judge. It's freeing ourselves from the burden of bitterness that chokes the life out of our souls.

Love wins when we forgive because forgiveness reflects the very heart of God…. It breaks cycles of hatred.. softens hardened hearts.. and opens the door to healing and reconciliation. It sets both the offender and the offended free.

***Remember***

“Forgiveness isn’t about forgetting... it’s about remembering grace.”

The same grace we received through Christ is the grace we’re called to extend to others.

“When we forgive… we reflect the love that saved us... and that love never fails.”
