“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” - Joel 2:12
Even now... in the middle of your rebellion.
Even now... while your heart is divided.
Even now... before you’ve fixed yourself.
Even now... while the ashes of your failures still cling to you...
God says… “Return to Me… with all your heart.”
Not half... Not pieces... Not the leftovers after your plans fall apart.
He wants the center...The core...The real you... ALL OF IT..
Israel had learned how to say the right words.. sing the right songs.. lift their hands in the right moments… but their hearts were far away…. And God said... “I don’t want your empty praise... I don’t want your dead service.”
Your voice can be loud in worship while your heart is distant...
Your hands can serve in ministry while your soul is starving...
Your mouth can pray the prayer… but your life is unchanged.
God isn’t after performance.
He isn’t after routines.
He isn’t after religious noise.
He wants your heart.
Break Yourself Before God.. most importantly allow God to completely break you....
God says…“tear your heart... not your garments” (Joel 2:13).
In other words... Don’t just look repentant...be repentant.
Break the pride... Break the stubbornness... Break the silence... Cry over the issues lodged deep in your heart...The bitterness you have hid... The temptations you have fed... The cycles you have never confronted... The sins you convinced yourself were “not that bad.”... Let the tears fall... Let the confession flow... Let the hardness crack open... and let true repentance begin... Because God can only fill what you empty.
You bring the surrender... He brings the revival.
Maybe you’re in the middle of running... Maybe you’ve drifted... Maybe you’ve pretended... Maybe you’ve survived on dead service and empty praise...
But listen to the heartbeat of God today and what He is saying to you…
“Even now… return to Me with all of your heart.”... Your rebellion doesn’t disqualify you... Your failures don’t define you... Your tears don’t embarrass Him... Your honesty doesn’t shock Him... He is calling... He is ready... He is waiting.
Come home... with fasting.. with weeping.. with mourning... Come home with your heart wide open... Come home to the God who restores.
