"Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." - 1 Peter 3:3-4
In a world that often emphasizes external appearances… the words of Peter remind us of a profound truth… true beauty transcends the superficial….
While society may celebrate flashy styles and material possessions…
God calls us to cultivate an inner beauty that reflects His character….
This inner beauty is characterized by a gentle and quiet spirit… traits that foster peace… kindness… and humility.
Now I'm going to let a little of the country boy come out in me by saying… Ladies and Gentlemen… this is not saying don't take care of yourself… or don't do anything with yourself... but rather it IS saying we should not spend more time on our outward appearance than what we spend on what really matters in eternity and that is… THE HEART!!
So... as we go about our daily lives… let’s take a moment to reflect on what we are investing in….
Are we spending more time on our outward appearances than nurturing our inner selves?
The beauty of a gentle spirit is not only attractive but also deeply impactful.
It brings comfort to those around us and fosters genuine connections.
