7-13-2026 | Beholding Jesus Until We Become Like Him
“Transformation Through Sustained Worship”
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory…” - 2 Corinthians 3:18
There is a holy mystery in simply looking at Jesus….
- Not glancing at Him in passing.
- Not visiting His presence only in crisis.
- Not singing about Him while our hearts remain distant.
- But beholding Him.
To behold Jesus is to fix the eyes of the soul on who He is… His beauty.. His holiness.. His mercy.. His power.. His gentleness.. His worth….
“Beholding Him is to linger and “Remain” in His presence long enough for His glory to do its work in us.”
Scripture teaches that transformation is not produced merely by effort.. pressure.. or self-discipline... True inward change comes as we behold the Lord.
“We become like what we worship.”
If we constantly gaze at the world… we will reflect its anxiety.. pride.. and instability.
But…
When we steadily behold Jesus… something divine happens….
His likeness begins to shape our character.
His patience softens our irritability.
His purity confronts our compromise.
His compassion melts our hardness.
His humility dismantles our pride.
His peace settles our striving hearts.
"Worship is not only a song we sing… it is a posture of sustained attention…. It is the heart turning again and again toward Jesus until admiration becomes imitation."
