"But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it." - James 1:22-25
It’s easy to say the right things… We can talk about faith… quote Scripture… post encouraging words… and even agree with truth…
But still never live it out.
The danger isn’t just inconsistency… it’s self-deception….
The Bible warns that hearing truth without acting on it creates a false sense of spiritual maturity.
In the Book of James… we’re given a clear challenge….
Don’t just hear the Word… Do It!!!
Jesus addressed this directly…
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” - Luke 6:46
That question still hits today…. Calling Him Lord means surrender... obedience… and action… not just agreement.
It’s possible to….
Talk about forgiveness… but hold grudges…
Praise God in church… but ignore Him in daily decisions…

How you treat people when no one’s watching…
What you do when it’s inconvenient…
The choices you make when it’s hard…
Even Jesus didn’t just teach love…. He demonstrated it through sacrifice... service... and obedience.
“God isn’t looking for perfect performance… He’s looking for genuine obedience.”
