8-14-2026 | God Is Waiting for You at Your Wit’s End
“They… were at their wits’ end. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble…” - Psalm 107:27–28
There is a place where your plans don’t work anymore…. Where the phone is silent… the answers are gone… and your strength is not enough… Scripture calls it “wits’ end.”…
You don’t accidentally arrive there…. You get there after you’ve tried everything you know to do… And right there… where you feel late… lost… and empty….
God has been waiting.
He is not surprised to see you there…. He knew you’d arrive long before you felt yourself breaking.
Your Wit’s End Is Often God’s Starting Point…
We usually invite God in after we’ve exhausted ourselves…. We try to fix the relationship first… We try to manage the crisis first… We try to “be strong” first.
But God… often does His clearest work when our strength runs out….
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” - Isaiah 40:29.
“Wit’s end” feels like failure to us.. but it looks like opportunity to God…. When you finally admit… “I can’t do this”… He gently answers… “Now let Me.”
He Knows the Road That Brought You There…
He knew when you took the wrong turn…. He knew when fear made you hold on instead of letting go… He knew when pride made you say… “I’m fine” when you weren’t.
And still… He did not walk away…
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.” - Psalm 139:1
God does not require a perfect prayer…. He responds to a surrendered heart….
Lay down what you’re gripping…
God may be waiting for you not just to ask for help… but to hand over what you are trying to control.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7
God is not rushing in last-minute to save you…. He has been sitting at that table… knowing…
Your wit’s end is not the end of your story…. It’s often where His story in you becomes clearer... deeper... and more beautiful.
