8-26-2026 | He Still Knows the Recipe
“But Jesus told him, ‘No! The Scriptures say, “People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. - (Matthew 4:4)
There’s something comforting about manna…. It wasn’t just food… it was proof…. Proof that God can sustain people in places where nothing grows…. Proof that heaven has a pantry…. Proof that when the path ahead is uncertain... God is not.
Israel woke up every morning to fresh provision… enough for the day…. Not enough to hoard…. Not enough to control tomorrow…. Just enough to trust God today.
And here’s the truth of today’s devotion…
“God has not forgotten the recipe for manna.”
He still knows how to provide in impossible places…. He still knows how to feed faith when resources are thin…. He still knows how to send “daily bread” ... when you’re standing in a wilderness season wondering where your next strength will come from.
Jesus echoes this in Matthew 4:4…. He reminds us that real life isn’t sustained only by what we can hold in our hands… money... meals... answers… plans... but by every word that comes from God’s mouth….
“That means your “daily bread” is bigger than groceries.”
It includes…
Guidance when you don’t know what to do
Peace when life is loud
Strength when your body and mind feel weak
Hope when disappointment has been stacking up
Grace for the moment you’re in right now
Sometimes we pray for a full warehouse... but God provides a faithful morning….
We want a month’s worth of certainty... but God gives us today’s portion of courage….
And while that can feel frustrating… it’s also deeply personal… daily bread means God is close enough to provide daily.
If you’re in a season where you feel like you’re scraping the bottom... remember this… God doesn’t run out…. He doesn’t forget…. He doesn’t misplace your address…. He still knows the recipe… and He knows exactly what your soul needs to make it through this day.
So don’t measure God’s faithfulness by how much you can store…. Measure it by how He keeps showing up.
