8-28-2026 | Heaven’s Values… Earth’s Decisions

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…” (Romans 12:2) 

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) 

There is a quiet but constant tension in the life of a believer…. we live on earth... but we belong to Heaven…. We pay bills... answer texts... raise kids... work jobs... face conflict... and make choices that feel very intense and demanding “right now.”. 

Yet Jesus teaches us to pray that Heaven’s reality would invade earth’s ordinary moments…. That’s what it means to be a Kingdom disciple… someone who reflects the values of Heaven in the decisions that must be made here on earth. 

A Kingdom disciple asks… “What would reflect my King?”…  Because discipleship isn’t mainly about information… it’s about formation….  Over time… the Holy Spirit reshapes our instincts so we begin to choose like citizens of another country. 

Heaven’s values often clash with earth’s defaults…. 

• Earth says… protect yourself... promote yourself…get even... get ahead….

• Earth says… hold tight... store up... stay guarded… 

• Heaven says… be generous... be openhanded... be led by love… 

When a Kingdom disciple faces a decision… how to respond to a rude comment… what to do with money... how to handle temptation... how to treat a coworker… they are standing at a crossroads between two systems.

And here’s the key… 

A Kingdom disciple remembers…I’m not just trying to“be a good person.”…I’mrepresentinga King…. The goalisn’t to look spiritual… it’s to live surrendered…. And the more we practice Heaven’s values on earth… the more our lives become a signpost… proof that God’s Kingdom is real…present…and powerful.

So today…take a look at your decisions…. Not just the big ones…your responses... your attitude... your words... your integrity... your generosity. 

Every decision is a chance to echo Heaven.
