Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Colossians 3:2
Living like Heaven is near does not mean escaping this world… it means walking through it with eternal awareness…. It means remembering that every moment matters… every soul is valuable… and every act of love echoes beyond this life.
Too often… we live as though this temporary world is permanent…. We chase things that fade… worry over things we cannot control… and allow fear to shape our decisions…. But when our hearts truly believe Heaven is near… our priorities begin to change.
We forgive quicker.
We love deeper.
We worship more freely.
We hold possessions more loosely.
We speak with purpose.
We become more aware of God’s presence in ordinary moments.
Jesus taught His followers to live watchfully… not in fear… but in expectancy…. Heaven is not a distant dream for the believer… it is a promised reality drawing closer with every passing day…. The Kingdom of God is already at work within us… shaping us for eternity.
When eternity becomes real in your heart… earthly distractions lose some of their power…. Your pain is no longer pointless…. Your obedience is no longer unnoticed…. Your hope is no longer fragile.
God calls us to live ready… not anxious… but faithful.
Ready to serve.
Ready to forgive.
Ready to worship.
Ready to meet Him with joy.
Meditation: Think about these questions…
What consumes most of my thoughts lately?
Am I living for temporary comfort or eternal purpose?
How would my life change if I truly believed Heaven was near?
Prayer:
Father… Teach me to live with my eyes fixed on eternity…. Help me not to become consumed with temporary things that pull my heart away from You…. Remind me that this life is a gift… but Heaven is my home…. Fill me with urgency to love others well… courage to walk in obedience… and peace that comes from knowing You are near…. Let my words… my actions… and my thoughts reflect the hope of Heaven…. When fear tries to overwhelm me… remind me that Your Kingdom is unshakable…. When distractions crowd my heart… draw me back to what truly matters…. Help me live each day with faith… expectation… and joy…. Make my life a light that points others toward You…. In Jesus’ name… Amen.
