“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?” – Luke 6:46

Jesus speaks with both love and truth in this verse…. He is not looking for empty words… religious routines… or emotional moments that never lead to obedience…. He desires hearts that truly follow Him.

It is easy to praise God with our lips while resisting Him in our daily choices…. We may sing worship songs… pray faithfully… and attend church regularly… yet still ignore His voice in areas where obedience feels uncomfortable….

But true discipleship is not measured by what we say… it is revealed by how we live.

Jesus asks a searching question…. Why call Me Lord if I am not truly leading your life?
When we surrender to Christ we invite Him not only to save us but also to guide us.

Obedience is not about perfection it is about surrender. God is not asking for flawless performance. He is asking for a willing heart that says “Yes, Lord,” even when the path is difficult.

Today…. take a moment to examine your heart. Is there an area where God has been speaking but you have delayed obedience? Maybe it is forgiveness trust repentance kindness humility or stepping into a calling He placed on your life.

The beautiful truth is this…. Jesus does not condemn us to shame us…. He corrects us to draw us closer…. His commands are rooted in love and obedience leads to peace strength and deeper intimacy with Him.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father Thank You for loving me enough to speak truth to my heart…. Forgive me for the times I have called You Lord with my words but failed to follow You with my actions…. Help me not to live with empty faith but with genuine obedience born out of love for You…. Search my heart today and reveal anything that is keeping me from fully surrendering to Your will. Give me courage to obey even when it is difficult uncomfortable or uncertain. Teach me to trust that Your ways are always higher and better than my own…. Jesus I want You to truly be Lord over every part of my life my thoughts my choices my relationships my future and my desires…. Shape me into a faithful disciple who not only hears Your Word but lives it daily…. Fill me with Your Spirit so that my life reflects Your love truth and holiness. May my obedience bring glory to You and draw others closer to Your heart…. In Jesus’ name Amen.

Meditation Thought:

“True worship is not only spoken with the lips… it is lived through obedience.”
