“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” - Proverbs 3:5-6
There are seasons in life when the fire feels gone…. Prayer feels heavy…. Worship feels distant…. Purpose feels buried under disappointment... routine... pain... or exhaustion…. Even the strongest believers can walk through moments where their hearts feel uninspired….
But… God is not intimidated by dry places.
In fact… He often does His deepest work there….
Total surrender does not begin when we feel strong…. It begins when we finally admit we are not.
Surrender is not a feeling…. It is a decision…. It is the choice to trust God when emotions are absent… when clarity is missing… and when motivation is low.
Many people think surrender means giving God what is already working…. But real surrender is handing Him the parts of us that are tired... confused… resistant... and empty…. It is saying…
“Lord.. I do not have the strength to inspire myself anymore…. I give You my weariness... my questions... my dreams... my failures... and my future.”
That kind of honesty opens the door for grace….
“Sometimes God allows us to reach the end of ourselves so we can discover the fullness of Him.”
When we stop striving and start yielding… the Holy Spirit begins to breathe life back into dead places…. The uninspired heart can live again… not by human effort… but by divine surrender.
Jesus modeled this in the garden of Gethsemane…. In His most agonizing moment… He prayed… “Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:42).
That is the language of surrender….
“Total surrender is costly… but it always leads to greater intimacy... deeper peace... and clearer purpose.”
You may feel uninspired today… but you are not abandoned…. God is still calling you…. He is not waiting for you to become more passionate before He uses you…. He is simply asking for your yes…. Your surrendered yes may be weak... trembling... and tearful… but heaven responds to it.
“The path to renewal is not found in trying harder…. It is found in bowing lower.”
When we surrender completely… God revives completely…. So if your soul feels dry… do not run from God…. Fall before Him…. Lay down every burden... every distraction... every hidden fear… and every unanswered question…. Surrender is where resistance ends and resurrection begins.
Remember…
“The moment you stop trying to carry everything is the moment God begins carrying you into everything He has prepared.”
