Then the LORD said to me, "Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. [3] This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. -  Habakkuk 2:2-3

There’s a kind of frustration that feels holy... but it isn’t always…. It sounds like… “God… why are You taking so long?” … But often times heaven is not delayed… sometimes we are…. Not because God is weak…. Not because God is confused…. But because God is faithful enough to not rush you into what your soul can’t carry yet.

“God is not late… He is often deep in what He is teaching you and preparing you to receive.”

We measure time with clocks…. God measures time with hearts.

A microwave gives you fast food…. An oven gives you something formed…. And a vineyard takes seasons… because the goal isn’t speed... it’s maturity…. Some prayers aren’t answered quickly because the answer is heavy…. It requires wisdom... character… restraint… humility... courage…. things that don’t grow in a day.

“God’s “wait” is often love disguised as preparation.”

“Sometimes the delay isn’t God’s timing… it’s our resistance”

So How do we know the difference?...

Ask yourself a few simple questions…

  • Is there something God already told me to do that I keep postponing?
(Forgive. Apologize. End it. Start it. Confess it. Commit it.)?

  • Am I praying for God to change something while He’s asking me to change first?

  • Do I keep revisiting what God already settled because I don’t like the way it feels or it’s not the answer I wanted.

  • Have I obeyed the last instruction? Because… the next step is often hidden inside the last step… you know…. the one you didn’t obey??

God often reveals more about “the way” than before “the way” itself...

But here’s the good news… God is not offended by your question… God can handle it…. He’s not fragile… He invites honesty… But… He also invites surrender.

God isn’t slow…

And maybe you’re not “behind.”

Maybe you’re being invited to loosen your grip…

Because the real question isn’t only “When will God move?”

It’s also… “When will I?”

Many times... the “hold up” is usually fear wearing a “religious” outfit.
