“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.” - Psalm 145:3
In a world filled with distractions… it is easy to give our attention… affection… and admiration to things that cannot truly satisfy…. We celebrate success… chase comfort… and sometimes place our confidence in people or possessions…. Yet none of these things are truly worthy of the deepest worship of our hearts.
Only God is worthy.
He is worthy because He is holy…. He is worthy because He created us with purpose and breathed life into our souls…. He is worthy because His mercy never fails and His love never runs dry…. Every sunrise declares His faithfulness…. Every answered prayer reveals His kindness…. Every moment of grace reminds us that we serve a Savior who is unmatched in power and compassion.
True worship is more than songs sung in church…. Worship is surrender…. It is trusting God when life is uncertain…. It is praising Him even through pain…. It is choosing obedience when emotions say otherwise…. Worship flows from a heart that recognizes who God is.
When Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up, he immediately became aware of God’s glory and his own need for grace…. Worship changes us because it shifts our eyes away from ourselves and back onto the greatness of God.
No matter what season you are in today… God remains worthy of your worship…. In joy… He is worthy…. In sorrow… He is worthy…. In abundance and in waiting… He is still worthy…. Our circumstances may change… but His character never does.
Meditation:
Close your eyes for a moment and reflect on the goodness of God…. Think about His faithfulness through every season of your life…. Remember the prayers He answered… the doors He opened… the strength He gave when you were weak… and the peace He brought in difficult moments.
Prayer:
Father… You alone are worthy of all honor… glory… and praise….. There is no one like You in all the earth…. Thank You for Your goodness… Your mercy… and Your unfailing love toward me…. Forgive me for the times I have allowed distractions… worries… or worldly desires to take the place that belongs only to You…. Draw my heart back to true worship…. Teach me to praise You not only with my words… but with my actions… my obedience… and my trust…. In the name of Jesus… Amen.
