Some addictions aren’t merely behavioral problems… they’re spiritual strongholds… repeated sins rooted in a blockage in the mind.
The enemy often builds a “lofty thing” or “partition” that resists God’s truth… so the truth you celebrate on Sunday doesn’t fully shape your thinking on Monday…. That tension produces double-mindedness… two competing “truths” fighting for control of your decisions.
“God doesn’t just want you managing sin…. He wants you delivered… not only told you’re free… but actually walking free.”
A stronghold is a fortified thought-pattern that argues with God…. It might sound like…“This is just who I am.”…“I can’t change.” … “I need this to cope.” … “God forgives me… so it’s fine.” … “I’ll stop… later.”
These are not harmless thoughts…. Scripture calls them lofty things… ideas lifted above God’s truth…. And until those lies are confronted… you can keep loving God sincerely while still repeating the same cycle.
“A stronghold keeps truth from fully infiltrating…. So you end up living divided… worship on Sunday… bondage on Monday… not because God’s Word lacks power… but because it hasn’t been allowed to abide deeply enough to reshape your inner system.”

Abide in the Truth (God’s Word)
I often hear people say… “Well I tried reading the bible... but I couldn’t understand it… so they just stop and check off the “I gave it my best try box” …
Think about it like this…
When you go to the doctor and he gives you medicine to take for your sickness… Do you fully understand the medicine you are taking??? Probably not… But… you still take it…. God’s Word works the same way… When we abide in His Word and stay in it continually… It still has working… healing power… it works in your life even when you don’t fully understand it….
Now don’t get me wrong… It is extremely important that we seek to understand His Word… but while we are continually taking it in and continually seeking to understand it… It has the ability to do Its work in you… if you continue... in It.
When you keep abiding… the lies lose their “home-field advantage.” ... The partition starts to crack.
2. Relationship with the Son (Jesus)…
There’s a difference between being made free (legally declared) and being free indeed (personally experienced…walking in freedom).
Think of it like this… The Word posts bail… Truth announces your release…. But… The Son is the key to your spiritual jail cell… and a continuous and surrendered relationship with Him brings the experience of walking out… and being free indeed.
“You can know the facts of freedom and still sit in the jail cell of old habits… because freedom becomes lived reality when you call on Jesus and actively walk with Him.”
